Beth O’Learya Sunday Times bestselling author of The Flatshare and The Switch, said: “I chose to support CLIC Sargent because of the amazing work they do for young people with cancer, and because in these dark and difficult times I know charities are needing more support than ever. I love the idea of a character in my next book carrying the name of a kind reader who has supported the charity.

Other authors including Stephen Leather, Christopher BrookmyreGillian McAllister, and Elly Griffiths are auctioning the opportunity for fans to have a character named after them in their next book. Alice Oseman, author of The Heartstopper graphic novels, is donating a personally signed and doodled copyAmanda Jennings is offering a Zoom book club; and children’s author Laura Ellen Anderson is giving away a personally signed book and print related to the Amelia Fang series. Since launching eight years ago, the campaign has raised over £50,000 for CLIC Sargent.

Jason Webster, General Manager of Trading, at CLIC Sargent, said: We’re delighted to be running the Good Books campaign again, for the eighth year, and with support from so many outstanding authors. Many people have rediscovered a love of reading over the last year, and this is a really exciting opportunity for fans to feature in their favourite author’s books.
