The diagnosis and treatment was obviously an incredibly stressful time for the whole family.
DiElle, from Fareham, was bowled over by the bravery she saw from children affected by cancer, treated at Southampton Hospital.
Their bravery was the inspiration behind a new song she has written called 'Already a Hero', which was released on World Cancer Day on the 4 February 2018. The song includes singer DiElle with members of Igloo Music and Solent Sounds Chorus joining in the chorus.
DiElle explains why she wanted to produce a charity single for CLIC Sargent on World Cancer Day:
“I wanted to give back to CLIC Sargent and people they help as they have been such a support to us throughout this awful experience."
"They have been a much needed ear and shoulder for us during this time. I personally had never heard of CLIC Sargent before we were on the oncology ward. I also wanted to do what I could to offer a fun day out to any kids and families who have been affected, who wanted to take part and be on the recording.”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Engagement Manager Liz Blunt said: “It means a lot to know that we were able to help DiElle and her family during such a difficult time in their lives.
"I have downloaded myself Already a Hero which is a really beautiful song.
"If you can join us in our fight for young lives against cancer, please support our charity by downloading this wonderful song.”
