J D Wetherspoon pubs nationwide reached the milestone in February 2017, taking the 16 year total raised for CLIC Sargent to over £15million! We are very excited to find out what more we can achieve together in the future.
The funds have been raised through a variety of activities including KICK for CLIC Sargent (a staff five-a-side football tournament), pub quizzes, themed events and variety nights. Kick for CLIC Sargent 2017 raised an incredible £445,253 in the summer months, one of our highest ever raised.
Alongside these activities the fifth annual Darts for CLIC Sargent staff tournament took place, with over 564 teams from 465 J D Wetherspoon pubs around the UK, raising over £249,000 for the charity.
J D Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin said: “We are extremely proud of our association with CLIC Sargent. Since 2002 our staff and customers have brilliantly supported our fundraising efforts.
We look forward to raising even more money in the future.”

CLIC Sargent works to improve the lives of young people with cancer, enabling them to fulfil their potential in all areas of their life. J D Wetherspoon offers flexible contracts and working hours to help young people combine their job with their studies.
In addition to this, they also encourage ambitious young people to work their way up to become managers or gain recognised qualifications.
