Pupils will be involved in an exciting 13 week school programme that will help to promote good health and activity.
During the programme, primary school pupils will cover a 12.1 mile distance by running a mile a week, achieved and verified at school. The last mile of their Half Marathon will then take place on the final stretch of the Run Hackney Half Marathon.
The event will also help teach pupils about the vital work of CLIC Sargent, and will include some fun fundraising activities for pupils to take part in.
All entries are managed through participating primary schools within the London Borough of Hackney. If you have any questions, please contact your School Organiser or email: email@example.com.
Fundraising support for your school
Once you have signed up to be a part of the Run Hackney Schools Challenge, you will receive a copy of our schools fundraising pack in the post. We also have a useful A-Z of schools fundraising ideas you can use to help to make your event a success.
Please use our downloadable assembly presentations and key stage lesson plans to help teach your pupils about CLIC Sargent and the support we provide for children and young people with cancer.
How your money can help
Last year, CLIC Sargent helped provide practical and emotional support to 52 families in the London Borough of Hackney, and financial support to 79 families within the Borough.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Elizabeth Charing said: “Currently, we can only support two out of every three children and young people with cancer.
We want to ensure children of primary school age diagnosed with cancer, their family, and their school have the information and support they need."
All funds raised by pupils taking part in the Run Hackney Schools Challenge will help to make a huge difference to young cancer patients.
