The Gerard Logue Memorial Fund raises over £70,000

Now in its 11th year, the Gerard Logue Memorial Fund has raised over £70,000 for children and young people with cancer.

Mary and Tomas Logue presenting Gareth McElduff, CLIC Sargent representative for the Derry area with a cheque for £6,202.00.

In 2004 Gerard Logue sadly died after battling cancer. Since then his family and friends have organised numerous events in memory of Gerard in their home city of Derry.

There was a great turnout at this year's 5k run and walk, and a raffle which was widely supported by local businesses. The event raised £6,202, bringing the fund total to an amazing £71,487.

Thank you

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Gareth McElduff said: "A massive thank you to the Logue family, their friends and local community for their continued support.

"The fund and events organised is such a fitting way to remember a sports loving and active young man.

"The money raised will go towards helping other children and young people with cancer in Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK."
