CLIC Sargent's Chief Executive Kate Lee and Trustee Will Carter will be taking to the skies to jump 10,000ft - an experience that will put their senses into overdrive and one that will have their adrenaline pumping.
The skydive takes place on Saturday 17 June at Brackley Airfield, Northampton and will be on the same day as hundreds of other people taking to the skies around the UK for their chosen charity, making it a record for Skyline, the skydive provider.
Kate Lee, who is also jumping with her lifelong best friend Rachel Armstrong, said:
“I truly believe that if children can live with cancer facing their fears every single day, then I can face mine by stepping out of a plane.
“At CLIC Sargent we pride ourselves on being brave. As CEO, I wanted to try and find a way to demonstrate to the CLIC Sargent team and our supporters that being brave comes in lots of forms, challenging a doctor, asking for a donation, taking a risk to improve a service, having a difficult conversation or stepping out of a plane.”
Will Carter, who has been a trustee at CLIC Sargent for six years, said: “Basically it was my 18-year-old son’s idea, then somehow I got included in the plan. Since I don’t really like flying or heights, it seemed an obvious challenge to join!
“I’m really proud to be a part of Team CLIC Sargent doing what I can to help the charity. I’ve personally seen the real difference the charity makes to young people with cancer and their families and thinking of that will get me to the finish line."
