The Social Business Networking event raises over £1,000

Construction industry professionals Emily Spink, Clint Skinner and Venessa Moffat, joined forces to set up the Social Business Network (SBN) team as a way to meet with other professionals and raise money for charity whilst having some fun.

Emily nominated CLIC Sargent and Dementia UK as the chosen charities for their first SBN event, as she has a personal connection to both charities.

Professional comedian Alistair Barrie compered the event which involved a raffle and silent auction. The team received some fantastic prize donations to give away including a cricket bat signed by Mark Ramprakash, a West Ham shirt signed by Alvin Martin and a week’s stay in Dubrovnik.

In total, the event raised a fantastic £3,065 with half going to CLIC Sargent, to support our work with children and young people with cancer.

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Elizabeth Charing attended the event and gave a short presentation to the attendees about CLIC Sargent.

She said: “Networking events are becoming very popular in London and it’s great to see this can be used as an opportunity to not only connect with people in your industry, but raise vital funds for charity. There was a fantastic atmosphere at the SBN event and they raised a great amount for CLIC Sargent.”

Thank you to Emily, Clint and Venessa for organising this successful event and raising this incredible amount for CLIC Sargent.

Thank you also to the events corporate supporters which included:

Kirby Group
Eclipse Sports Promotions
Riello UPS
The Random House Group

Special thanks goes to Alistair Barrie who gave his time for free and to the former West Ham, England and Talk Sport pundit and commentator, Alvin Martin for pulling the raffle draw.
