Jack and Kieran to raise funds with 3,000 mile trek

On 1 June 2013, Jack Chalkley and Kieran Sherry are planning to start their 3,000 mile trek across America, in aid of CLIC Sargent and Parkinsons UK.

The pair will be walking the whole of the 3,000 mile journey starting in New York and finishing in Los Angeles. They aim to cover an average distance of 18 miles every day, for six months, sleeping in a tent each night.

They will also be paying for the whole trip themselves, so that all money raised will go directly to CLIC Sargent and Parkinsons UK .

Jack is walking oh behalf of Stephanie Knight, who after being diagnosed for cancer at 17, has continued her campaign to raise over £40,000 for cancer charities and increase awareness of teenage cancer.

When Jack asked Steph who she would like to benefit from this campaign, she suggested CLIC Sargent.

She told him: CLIC Sargent to me means, having someone there to listen when you feel like no one cares. CLIC Sargent isn't just there for me they’re there for my family too. A friend when you need one most.”
