Billy’s baton bliss

CLIC Sargent Volunteer extraordinaire Billy Herd did himself proud by taking part in the Queen's baton relay, in preparation for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014.

Long serving CLIC Sargent volunteer and fundraiser Billy Herd was proud to represent his country, community and CLIC Sargent, when he carried the Queen’s baton through Prestwick, Ayrshire, as part of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014.

Hundreds of spectators, including family, friends, volunteers and families who are currently being supported by CLIC Sargent, lined the streets of Ayrshire to see proud Billy carrying the baton aloft.

He eventually passed the baton onto another CLIC Sargent volunteer, Aidan Copland, whose young sister has been supported by CLIC Sargent during her cancer treatment.
