Sibling running challenge raises over £350

Long term supporter of CLIC Sargent, Gareth Owens and his sister Gemma have gone head to head in a running challenge event and raised over £350 for the CLIC Sargent Homes from Home Appeal.

The highly anticipated duel between Gareth 'Usain' Owens and Gemma 'GO Farah' Owens took place atThe Gymnasium in the Merchant Hotel, Belfast. The siblings competed against one another to finish a marathon distance of 26.2 miles on treadmills.

The event was organised as part of the pairs training for the Virgin London Marathon on 21 April 2013 when they will be running to raise even more money for children and young people with cancer.

A magnificent total of £350 has been collected so far with the final amount likely to be over £400 thanks to the sponsorship of the two runners and the kindness of gymnasium staff and members that donated.
