Ruby’s Fat Cow Fund celebrates fundraising achievements

Annette and Tim Shakespeare have held a fantastic party to celebrate the success of their Ruby’s Fat Cow Fund, which raised £3,000 for CLIC Sargent in 2012.

The fund was set up in memory of their daughter Ruby, who died of cancer in 2012.

During Ruby’s treatment the family received support from CLIC Sargent Social Worker, Christine, based at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon. They also took a much needed break away at the charity’s holiday home in Scotland, Malcolm Sargent House.

Throughout the year, Annette and Tim have been overwhelmed by the support of friends, family, colleagues and the wider local community who have offered their time and efforts to organise a whole host of fundraising events.

The party held at the Lethbridge Primary School in Old Town, Swindon, marked the one year anniversary of Ruby’s Fat Cow fund being set up.

Guests and supporters celebrated with a raffle, auction, and enjoyed live music from Tim’s band, The Chocolate Candy Band.

During the evening, Annette and Tim handed their £3,000 donation to CLIC Sargent fundraising manager, Sophie Porfirio, who was delighted to receive the cheque on behalf of the charity.

A huge thank you goes out to Annette and Tim for their tremendous commitment to CLIC Sargent, and to all of their friends, family, colleagues and local community for being so responsive in supporting them.
