The exciting family-friendly Gig in the Yard returned to the Stowmarket wine bar in The Old Fox Yard and was a great success.
Musical acts included X Factor star Jade May-Jean Peters, Pinned Above the Sky, Steve Barton, Mid Suffolk Brass Band and more.
A huge help
Paul Ekpenyong, with the help of Allen and Wendy Winchester, organised the event in aid of CLIC Sargent which helped him and his family when their son was diagnosed with cancer.
Mr Ekpenyong said: “Cancer has a dramatic impact on the whole family especially when they have the added financial burden of being away from their home in order to get the treatment their child needs.
CLIC Sargent was a huge help to us when our son, Louis, became ill with leukaemia.
Wendy Winchester, owner of Winchester’s added: “All funds raised from this event will help CLIC Sargent to continue supporting other families faced with this disease.”
Highlights from the day included a visit from Stowmarket's resident alien, the Stowmartian, and an extensive raffle kindly supported by local businesses.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Daisy Turner said: “We are so grateful to Paul and Allen and Wendy Winchester, for once again organising such a fantastic event.”
