Chesfield Downs Golf Club raises £5,815 for CLIC Sargent

Chesfield Downs Golf Club, Hertfordshire, have managed to raise an absolutely fantastic £5,815 over the past year for children and young people with cancer.

The Ladies section of the golf club nominates a new captain each year, and in 2012 Lauren Pitcher landed the role and decided on CLIC Sargent as their chosen charity. Since then Lauren and the ladies have shown dedication and worked extremely hard to raise as much as they could, whilst keeping it fun of course!

Fundraising in 2013

The year has consisted of parties, golf days, coffee mornings and guest speakers. The ladies also spent a whole month collecting their old clothes to donate to us – this brought in a fantastic £1,680 alone.

Lucia Martinez, Fundraising Manager for Hertfordshire has had the opportunity to join the ladies on a few occasions and said:

"It has been an absolute pleasure working with Lauren and the rest of the ladies at Chesfield Downs. They have injected a lot of energy into their fundraising and I feel this is why they have been so successful.

"I have been lucky to attend a few events and I have enjoyed every one of them. From myself and on behalf of CLIC Sargent I would like to say a massive thank you!"
