Delicious Dart Trail in aid of CLIC Sargent

The Delicious Dart Trail, an imaginative new event showcasing south Devon’s spectacular scenery and outstanding local produce is taking place on 16 March 2013, in aid of CLIC Sargent.

Delicious Dart Trail in aid of CLIC Sargent

Some members of The Delicious Dart Trail team have first-hand experience of the tremendous support that CLIC Sargent provides and have pledged to raise a minimum of £5,000 for the charity.

An event that organisers are describing as ‘a food festival on the run’, The Delicious Dart Trail is a trail running event with a real difference.

There are two distances to choose from:

Dartington Hall to Dartmouth (15 miles)

Participants will run from Dartington Hall, Totnes to Dartmouth via Sharpham, Dittisham and Kingswear, sampling a mouth-watering variety of locally produced food and drink along the way.

By the time they reach Dartmouth, runners will have clocked up 15 miles of scenic riverside trail and tasted over a dozen different beers, wines, liqueurs, savouries and puddings.

Dartington Hall to Dittisham (10 miles) (transfer to Dartmouth via ferry)

An alternative 10 mile route which stops short in Dittisham and includes a ferry ride to the finish in Dartmouth is also on offer.

Event organiser, Kate Treleaven said: “We are incredibly grateful to all the local food and drink producers, pubs and restaurants who are contributing to the event and to the Dartmouth River Boat Company for their generous support."

“Many of the venues hosting food and drink stops along the route are planning to go to town with live music and parties to welcome the runners and spectators. There’s going to be a real carnival atmosphere - we can’t wait!”

Entry fee for both distances is £25.
