Battersea Power Station raises £87,000

The Battersea Power Station abseil, CLIC Sargent’s biggest regional event to date, took place on 10 March 2013, raising an incredible £87,000 for children and young people with cancer.

Over 200 participants braved the cold weather to abseil 130ft down the side of the iconic London building.

Abseil participant, Julie said: "I really enjoyed the experience, it's something else crossed off the list that I hadn’t done before and I got to raise money for CLIC Sargent also."

The money raised from the event could pay for two CLIC Sargent Social Workers for an entire year. CLIC Sargent Social Workers offer emotional and practical support to children and young people with cancer, and their families.

CLIC Sargent fundraising manager, Louise Oakley said: “This was a brilliant day that raised an incredible amount for CLIC Sargent. Every single abseiler was fantastic, a huge thank you to everyone who took part."
