UK’s award winning parking app AppyParking supports families of young cancer patients following CCAM campaign

AppyParking, the UK’s award-winning parking app has added parking locations and costs around the UK’s Primary Treatment Centres following on from CLIC Sargent’s CCAM travel costs campaign.

After seeing CLIC Sargent’s campaign calling for better financial support for families travelling to and from hospital for cancer treatment, AppyParking expanded their coverage so that more detailed information about what parking is available at or near hospitals across the UK, including the locations for both paid for and free parking.

Reducing worry

The update is focused on helping reduce some of the worry and expense involved for families when visiting treatment centres so they can concentrate on supporting their child.

The free app shows all parking restrictions, zones and tariffs, giving complete choice to drivers, taking away the stress of parking.

Dan Hubert, CEO of AppyParking said: “After recently having a baby and spending our first week in the Intensive Care Antenatal Clinic, I was saddened by how many parents with really premature babies also had to worry about the stress and cost of parking. When CLIC Sargent approached me I immediately related to the issue and felt that my team at AppyParking could help with the issue of travel costs and support CCAM campaign to raise awareness of the financial cost of cancer.

“AppyParking helps drivers across the UK to park like a local wherever they are. Our free app presents the full parking picture for drivers and we’ve uncovered some hospitals that have free on-street parking nearby. We hope we can help some families significantly reduce the costs associated with their visits.”

Families can now download the free app to help them find the cheapest parking options near hospitals.
