“In December 2014 I had an idea to take part in 24 various challenges in 12 months starting in January 2015 to December 2015 to raise funds for CLIC Sargent.
“My challenges included five marathons in three countries, one of which was a night marathon on my own and a Ultra 40 mile run from Hampton Court Place to The Thames Barrier along the River Thames towpath; a 15,000ft skydive; a bungee jump; a triathlon and a duathlon; two obstacle course races; six half marathons; and a 140 mile bike ride from Newport in Wales to London, plus a few more!
“In May 2015 I tore my meniscus in my right knee and thought that I might not be able to continue but after a few trips to see a physio and a rest period I was back on the road and ticking of the challenges.
“I am a father of four children myself so I have a lot of respect for the work that CLIC Sargent does.
“I can honestly say that 2015 was an fantastic year and with just the support and kind donations from family and friends I managed to raise an amazing £4,128 for several charities, including CLIC Sargent.
24 challenges in 12 months
“Instead of putting my feet up and having a year off I've decided to do it all again but in 2016 I'm going bigger, better, higher and faster and once again I will be raising money for CLIC Sargent and hope to beat last year's total.
“In 2016 I will be taking on 12 marathons, 12 various other challenges plus running a total of 2016 miles in 2016."
Good luck Paul!
