Jon Carter, Denise Sprague, Donna McKellar, Heather Hawkins, Lee Clark, and Alastair Dobbyn from the Supply Chain Department were blasted with neon paint as they tackled the 5k course at Washing Pool Farm in Bristol.
In 2014 Lidl UK employees voted for CLIC Sargent to become the retailer’s charity partner, and pledged to raise £1 million. Since then Lidl shoppers and employees like the Weston-Super-Mare team have raised £900,000 for the charity, which could fund over 36,000 hours of specialist care for young cancer patients.
Jon and his team have fundraised for CLIC Sargent throughout the years in a whole host of ways including taking part in other sponsored runs, like the Bath Half Marathon.
Now their Color Vibe challenge will add £500 more to the pot.
CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families, giving them vital emotional, practical and financial support during and after treatment. Last year the charity supported 650 children and young people with cancer and their families across the South West.
The CLIC Sargent team in the region includes social workers, nurses and play specialists at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, Royal United Hospital in Bath, Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, and four other hospitals.
The charity also runs CLIC House and Sam's House, its Homes from Home in Bristol. These offer free accommodation for families so that they can stay close to their children during their treatment at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
