A group of friends from Haselemere, Surrey have raised over £7,000 for CLIC Sargent by hosting a charity ball at the Old Thorns Manor Hotel in Liphook.

May Ball raises over £7,000

More than a hundred guests attended the May Ball and enjoyed a drinks reception, an amazing three course dinner, and entertainment from the band Jamtastic.

An ‘Auction of Promises’ was also held during the evening and included some amazing prizes, including tickets to Grange Park Opera, a golf holiday in Spain, Wimbledon tennis tickets, a flying lesson at Goodwood and a spa day at Grayshott Spa.

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Dan Powell said: “A huge thank you to the committee for organising the ball and making it such a success. Without their on-going support we could not provide the support we do for children and young people with cancer.”

The money raised could pay for a CLIC Sargent Social Worker for two months.

A CLIC Sargent Social Worker will aim to meet with children and young people with cancer, and their families, soon after diagnosis and help them to understand and cope with the emotional, practical and effects or cancer, throughout treatment and beyond.

Thank you to everyone that helped organise the May Ball and raise this incredible amount.
