The group of children and young people and their families enjoyed a ground tour of the stadium, met the team’s players and even shook the paw of the club mascot, Grecian the Lion!
They also enjoyed watching a magician performer and took part in a skills game provided by the club’s ‘Football in the Community’ team.
The club even arranged a bucket collection on the day which raised £535.27 for CLIC Sargent and a face painter who also helped raise further funds.
Bruce Henderson, the football club’s business development manager, worked with sponsors and CLIC Sargent to put the visit together.
He said: “Days like today make one feel humble and to be able to meet the children, young people and their families is a privilege. We are indebted to our sponsors for their help and to CLIC Sargent and Bramble Ward for skills and time.
"However, the real stars are the children, young people and their loving families; it was an honour to meet them. The club is deeply grateful to the following companies and individuals that made the day possible."
