First Christmas at Marion's House

Staff at Marion’s house, CLIC Sargent’s Home from Home in Glasgow, are celebrating their first Christmas since opening in February 2016.

First Christmas at Marion's House

Christmas party!

Staff at Marion’s house made the most of the large foyer space to host their first Christmas party for families staying in the Home from Home.

Generous volunteers from Mercers Pensions, who provide gardening assistance throughout the year, arrived on the day to help out and get involved in the festive fun.

House Manager Tracy said: “Marion’s House in Glasgow is getting ready for our first Christmas, with children’s gifts and Christmas hampers kindly donated by Lidl UK and J D Wetherspoon.

"One of our parents who has been staying at Marion’s House since we opened in February has helped us to decorate the first of many trees - one down, four more to go!”

The party was held on Saturday 10 December, and was well attended by families and their guests, with music provided by a ‘singing Santa’ and House Manager Tracy as a backing elf! Biscuits and selection boxes were kindly provided by Zurich Community Trust and lucky dip gifts by Lidl UK.

Whilst Christmas is a time of celebration, for those staying in a Home from Home it can be very challenging, so Tracy likes to make sure there are still quiet spaces for families who need them and make sure everyone has the ability to choose when, or if, to take part.
