Cornish Pirates continue to support young cancer patients

Throughout the 2015/16 season the Cornish pirates are helping CLIC Sargent support children and young people with cancer by fundraising through various fundraisng events, including bucket collections on match days.

Before kick off at 2pm on 27 December CLIC Sargent volunteers will be selling Christmas hats to bring the festive spirit into the ground and will also be holding a collection during the interval.

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Jordan Anderton said: “The Cornish Pirates supporters, staff and volunteers have been fantastic already this season and I can’t wait to go down there again. They are all extremely generous with their donations and were very welcoming.”

Making a difference at Christmas

Cornish Pirates media liaison officer Phil Western said: “The match against Jersey will likely be our busiest of the year, with a poignancy that it takes place during the Christmas period.

“The time is very much about family, and children in particular, and with CLIC Sargent being our nominated charity this season it is envisaged that the generosity of our supporters will help raise vital funds needed in support of such a great cause.”

Keep 27 December free in your diary and head on down to the Mennaye Field because not only will you enjoy a fantastic game of rugby, you will also be supporting CLIC Sargent, helping us to continue providing cancer support to the young.
