Swimming for young cancer patients

Karen Worrall from Gloucestershire has completed a swimming challenge to raise over £1,000 for CLIC Sargent in loving memory of her mum.

Swimming for young cancer patients

Karen’s mother recently died of cancer and so she chose to swim a mile within an hour on her birthday to raise funds to help support children and young people with cancer.

Karen did the swim at her local pool in Gloucester, with her family there to support her every stroke of the way.

Karen said: “I am so proud to have completed the swim in only 50 minutes on what was an extremely emotional day.”

Along with some additional fundraising activities, Karen has raised over £1,100 from her challenge.

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Hannah Worrall said: “We are so grateful to Karen for organising and completing her challenge. The money will go on to support children and young people with cancer, and their families.”
