Powered up the tower

CLIC Sargent’s first ever stair running team have climbed the 888 steps of London’s third tallest building, raising £10,000 for children and young people with cancer and their families.

Powered up the tower

On Thursday 1 November, 50 participants met at the foot of London’s Heron Tower to climb the building’s 888 stairs one by one.

Some people ran the whole route, others walked, but whatever style they chose all participants completed the huge challenge of reaching the very last step in less than 30 minutes.

The winning time for the climb was five minutes and 21 seconds, which is a fantastic result.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the event and helped raise such a huge amount for CLIC Sargent. Thank you also to all the staff at Heron Tower, the volunteers on the night and our volunteer photographer, Nunzio Prenna.

More photos of the event can be found on Nunzio’s website or on the CLIC Sargent Facebook Page.
