Studhambury 2015 - they did it!

The local residents of Studham in Bedfordshire did it again! They hosted a fantastic festival at the village pub for the third year running, which was enjoyed by all and raised an incredible amount of money to support children and young people with cancer.

Studhambury 2015 - they did it!

The third annual Studhambury Festival was held in the Red Lion Pub, in Studham, in aid of CLIC Sargent.

It was an unmitigated success with 11 different bands playing. The day began with a harmonious ladies barbershop quartet, and ended eight hours later with a rocking performance by local band Toffees.

The festival itself raised an incredible £6,327 for children and young people with cancer, and their families.

However, with an additional £756 raised by one of the bands, Crowjayne SC, through an earlier Monopoly Board challenge and the sale of their CD, the total raised was a whopping £7,083.

One of the many fundraising activities available at the event was an auction, which raised a massive £600 through brilliant prizes such as a private performance by Studham-grown band, the Common People.

There were also sealed bids for rounds of golf, teddy bears and other goodies, a tombola, and raffles.

Local resident Annie Milne said: “There is something special when a village can raise so much money without a penny of the donations going to the cost of putting the event on. A real testament to Studham’s village spirit and generosity.”

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Catherine Cadman said: “I am absolutely over the moon with the success of Studhambury 2015. They have raised such an incredible amount!

"What is so lovely to see is that this has all been achieved by a community working closely together. It really is a pleasure to work with them all. I’m already looking forward to next year’s event!”
