Known for its philanthropic work, staff at Larking Gowen were moved to support CLIC Sargent when a member of staff from their Diss office mentioned her family had been personally supported by the Charity.
Last year alone, CLIC Sargent supported 463 young cancer patients from East Anglia.
Claire Norgate, partnership secretary and a member of the Larking Gowen Community Fund, said: “We ask all our staff to vote for a chosen charity each year and CLIC Sargent and Alzheimer’s were unanimously the most popular choices.
Money and awareness
“With the support of the chosen charities and the Larking Gowen Community Fund committee we are hoping to raise money and awareness for both causes.”
"Throughout the next nine months, we have a calendar full of planned fundraising events.
“These include a Larking Gowen calendar, produced using photographs of local and iconic landscape images submitted by staff, which will then be sold for the charities.
“Other activities include raffles, dress down days, bake and book sales.”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Daisy Turner said: “We are really looking forward to the brilliant fundraising events the team have planned and are so grateful for their support.
“All of CLIC Sargent’s services, including accommodation in our Homes from Home next to specialist cancer treatment centres, are provided to families free of charge, but without the support of businesses such as Larking Gowen, this simply wouldn’t be possible.”
