“CLIC Sargent is a charity that is incredibly close to our family’s heart, as in 2008 we lost our triplet sister Hannah to cancer.
“There are no words to explain the heartache and pain felt by the loss of our beautiful sister. Han was not only a wonderful sister, but an incredible daughter and loving friend. The loss felt by my family is endless, and the absence felt between myself, Jodie and my brother Guy is immeasurable.
Training for a marathon
“This is the first marathon for both of us. We’ve always wanted to do the London Marathon and went along to the event last year to watch our cousin who ran for CLIC Sargent and the atmosphere on the day was amazing!
"We are a really sporty family - Jodie and I do long runs together as we have similar levels of fitness and we are both quite competitive which means we push each other quite a lot.
"We want to run the race at the same pace, that’s the plan. For support it will be nice to be together and keep the same pace and if I am running next to her and she is running next to me it will give us the push to keep each other going.
Looking forward to race day
“We are feeling really nervous about race day but I am looking forward to it. Jodie and I have a fundraising target of £3,600. We’ve had a few cake sales and a barn dance and have raised over £1,880 so far but will be asking for sponsorship from friends and family once they have seen us cross the finish line at the marathon.
“It means a lot to fundraise for CLIC Sargent. Every time I don’t want to run anymore I remember I can’t stop because I am doing it for other families so that it means they don’t have to go through what we went through. That’s all that matters.”
