Euan Macrae Bike Ride set to raise £20,000

In September, last month, a little bit of Harry Potter magic came to Tain Woods in Ross-shire in the Highlands, when 165 riders enjoyed the annual Euan Macrae Family Bike Ride in aid of CLIC Sargent.

Euan Macrae Bike Ride set to raise £20,000

In memory of a boy called, Euan who loved reading, the event has a different book theme every year and this year his family chose a Harry Potter theme. 165 riders cycled the 20k and 3k Forestry Commission routes, travelling through magic curtains and taking in witch’s stories and magic. Riders of all ages also enjoyed games of Quidditch, bows and arrows, face painting as well as a tasty Forestry Commission barbeque.

The event, as well as the auctioning of some great Forestry Commission carvings is expected to raise more than £2,000 for CLIC Sargent.

A big thank you to the Forestry Commission for all their fantastic support, the Macrae family for their creative energy and all the lovely volunteers who made the whole event go with such a swing. For more information about the bike ride please visit
