Marketing co-ordinator and charity ambassador Emma Prendergast initiated the fundraising and also took time out to talk briefly about the work CLIC Sargent does in supporting children and young people with cancer, and their families.
Emma said: “All in all, both our events at The Coriander Lounge and The Lowry went better than we’d ever hoped and this is down to all of our guests and staff who turned up on the night.
“Hopefully this is the start of our client and networking events, and in doing so, I hope the money we raise for CLIC Sargent will continue.”
These events were the first official networking and client events of 2016 for REC Ltd and attendees included The Chamber of Commerce with Christian Spence, head of research and policy at Greater Manchester who gave a talk on the Northern Powerhouse.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Maria Healy said: “I would like to thank REC Ltd for their donation and special thanks must go to Emma who started the ball rolling and hosted the raffle on the night – it’s thanks to people like Emma that we are able to keep supporting children and their families.
“I hope that people continue to enjoy these networking events which provide a great opportunity for local businesses as well as raising money for CLIC Sargent.”
