Caledonian canoe challenge raises £2,675

Friends and work colleagues, Darren Anderson and Shane Green from Filey, North Yorkshire, have paddled 60 miles down the Caledonian Canal to raise money for CLIC Sargent.

Caledonian canoe challenge raises £2,675

Darren and Shane completed the canoe trip in two and a half days from Inverness to Fort William, often in rough conditions. They were completely self-sufficient throughout their journey, even camping in the wild overnight.

This was a completely new challenge for both Darren and Shane as they had never rowed a canoe together before. On day one alone, they rowed over 30 miles, from Inverness to Loch Ness.

Through sponsorship from friends, family and local businesses, they raised an amazing £2,675 for children and young people with cancer.
