National Day Nurseries Association raise vital funds

The branch chose to support CLIC Sargent because of Liz Leggett. Liz’s son, Oscar sadly died of cancer aged just 21-months-old.

Liz and the family were supported by CLIC Sargent at the time. Oscar had attended one of the branch's nurseries, Liz’s eldest daughter has just finished going there and her youngest child is still there.

Liz and her family and friends have all been supporting CLIC Sargent ever since Oscar died, from doing abseils to climbing mountains to wearing wigs to work - they’ve done it all!

Liz is now a CLIC Sargent volunteer representative and is a great advocate for CLIC Sargent in the area.

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Dee Tyler said: “The branch’s 15 nurseries involved have done everything from cake sales, to taking part in Wig Wednesday, to social events for the managers and staff.

“In doing so they have raised more than enough to support one family, like Liz’s, through their child’s treatment and beyond.

“They have also helped to raise awareness of the work of CLIC Sargent in an area it’s traditionally not as well known in. We are extremely grateful for their support.”
