Support our Services
Opportunities to support in our services teams are very rare but when they do come up they're very special! Take a look below to see what opportunities we have right now – there may be specific requirements to the role so please read the descriptions carefully.
Our Home from Homes are havens for families when their child is going through cancer treatment. They’re free and close to principal treatment centres, helping families avoid the extra financial burdens of travel, accommodation and food costs. To make our homes as normal as possible we have lots of games consoles and TVs which need to be kept in working order and with the latest updates. That’s where you come in! We’re looking for a volunteer to join us for a few hours each month to keep our technological bits and bobs in top working order so families can enjoy them whilst having some down time.
- You’ll be a member of the House Team making sure the home and all of its features are accessible and available to families whenever they need
- You will test our devices to make sure they are in good working order
- You’ll be responsible for setting up any new devices and making sure any updates are completed
- This might mean installing the latest version of play station, or tuning a television and everything in between
- While this role is based in our Home from Home, your contact with families will be rare
If you are a dab hand with technology and all things digital and want to volunteer flexibly then we want to hear from you! Please fill in the form below.
Please note: Applications for the Digital Community Champion are now closed and will reopen in September – please watch this space and revisit this page then!
Are you a young person aged 16-30 and have direct experience of cancer? Then we’re looking for you to join our team of Digital Community Champions to help support our online community of young people.
Our online community, ‘Team Young Lives’, is peer-led to ensure the tone and content reaches and supports as many young people as possible. You’ll play a key part in shaping the group’s identity as a successful platform for peer support for young people who are living with cancer and beyond.
Some of your responsibilities will include moderating the Facebook page in a safe and meaningful way, being an active member of the group and helping with events such as ‘Ask the Expert’ sessions. We’ll make sure you’re fully inducted to the organisation, trained in your role and supported throughout.
