Barnaby the CLIC Sargent bear

Eight-year-old Amelia and four-year-old Seb are helping CLIC Sargent to promote Barnaby - the latest soft toy available from H.Samuel, Ernest Jones and Leslie Davis stores. Proceeds from the sales of Barnaby will be donated to CLIC Sargent.

The sale of 10 Barnaby bears could pay for a family to stay overnight in one of CLIC Sargent’s Homes from Home which allows families to stay together and remain close to the hospital whilst their child receives treatment.

Barnaby the CLIC Sargent bear is priced at £9.99, with all profits raised in the UK going to CLIC Sargent. To get your own Barnaby bear, pop in to your local H.Samuel, Ernest Jones or Leslie Davis store.

Amelia and Seb’s stories

Amelia and Seb have both been supported by CLIC Sargent and are now helping promote the sale of Barnaby by starring in this short film with their families.

Each bear sold will help CLIC Sargent support more children like them who are receiving cancer treatment.

Seb

Seb’s mum Natasha told us how using Paul’s House, one of the charity’s Homes from Home helped to keep them together as a family while Seb was having treatment:

“My partner Luke was able to stay at Paul’s House when Seb had some treatment nearby. I don’t know how we would’ve coped without it.

“We also had amazing support from our CLIC Sargent Social Workers Claire and Nicolette who helped us to sort out our finances by getting us some grants and were generally really emotionally supportive.”

Amelia

Amelia’s mum Michelle talks about how CLIC Sargent supported the family:

“Amelia was diagnosed with an Osteosarcoma in August 2017. It was just…disbelief. How could they be telling me that she’s got a 10 centimetre tumour in her leg?

“When your child is diagnosed with cancer it’s a minefield; a completely different world and way of life. You feel a bit like you’re paddling in the dark so to have CLIC Sargent’s support was amazing.”
