Free welfare advice

Cancer costs as soon as a child or young person is diagnosed with cancer, but getting access to welfare benefits can be difficult. That’s why we work in partnership with Citizens Advice to offer free advice to parents of children with cancer and young cancer patients about their money and rights.

What is it?

Our Welfare Advice Service is run by trained advisers who understand the issues facing parents who have a child with cancer. They can answer any questions, from money issues to problems at work, housing and consumer rights, and carry out full financial checks to see what benefits young cancer patients and their families may be entitled to.

The service is free and confidential. We‘re here to help young cancer patients and their parents understand and protect their rights, navigate the maze of benefits and other financial support provided by the government, and to make sure they get the help they’re entitled to.

How we help

Our welfare advisers can offer expert support and advice on a range of issues, including:

  • benefits
