The route

Run Balmoral is one of the most popular participation sports events in the north east of Scotland and takes place in the magnificent grounds of Balmoral Castle.

Over 5,000 people take part in this weekend of events including a 5k, 10k and 15 mile trail race and now competitors can look forward to a new racing opportunity.

The Apollo Duathlon is to feature a challenging 5k run, followed by a dramatic 20k mountain biking stage before finishing off with a second 5k run around a specially designed course through the spectacular grounds of the royal estate.
