Cancer treatment continues right through the Christmas period so our friends at Morrisons have made a film to highlight the realities of cancer at Christmas.
The film shows 12 children who have all received treatment for cancer singing ‘Jingle Bells’. The children aged 4 – 12 come from across England, Scotland and Wales and have all been supported by CLIC Sargent following a cancer diagnosis.
End of treatment bell
The children are seen ringing the End of Treatment Bell – which marks the point at which chemotherapy, radiotherapy or other treatment finishes. The bell is rung in many children’s cancer wards throughout the UK and we wanted to share this special moment with you.
Rachel Kirby-Rider, Director of Income and Engagement at CLIC Sargent, said:
“While we think of sleigh bells at Christmas, children with cancer may be thinking of the End of Treatment Bell. We have created this video to show that cancer rewrites Christmas, but CLIC Sargent is there to support every child, young person and family from the moment of diagnosis.”
Thank you again for everything you do to support young lives against cancer.
