Emma, who was diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma in May 2013 at the age of 18, began her fundraising with a Christmas afternoon tea, full of festive fun and games.
The event was a great chance for Emma to get her friends and family together to kick off the festive period in style with lots of lovely cakes, savoury snacks and games such as ‘Name the Penguin’.
Emma was hoping to raise £250 but absolutely smashed her target, raising £400 and bringing her total to £710 so far after some very generous donations from other friends and family.
Emma will continue to organise a variety of other events throughout the year, encouraging friends, family and colleagues to join her on a range of activities to help raise awareness and funds for CLIC Sargent.
Emma’s final event, a charity ball in November 2018, will mark her fifth year anniversary and be used to reveal her fundraising total.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Engagement Manager Alex Drury said: "It is always fantastic when people who have directly benefitted from CLIC Sargent’s specialist support decide to fundraise for the charity."
"Emma’s plans are certainly ambitious, but we are so excited to be working alongside her to raise vital funds to support children and young people with cancer.
"Emma is a fantastic example of someone who embodies CLIC Sargent’s vision of ensuring all young cancer patients thrive, not just survive.”
