Join Janet and Mike for a sponsored walk on 28 June 2015 in memory of Janet's son Charlie, and help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.
Charlie was just 20 years old when he was diagnosed with lymphoma in August 2008. He died in January the following year. Charlie wanted his family to continue to support CLIC Sargent and so far more than £59,000 has been raised by the Charlie White Memorial Fund.
Mike and Janet will be walking 76 miles along the South West Coast Path from St Mawes to Plymouth, and they are inviting you to join them for a sponsored walk on the first day of their expedition.
You will set off by ferry from St Mawes to Place, where there will be a choice of two community walks:
- Place to Portloe – 13.6 miles. This walk is challenging in places and will involve a full day’s exercise with expectation of taking 8 hours to complete. Transport will be available from Portloe back to St Mawes.
- Place to Portscatho to Place – Nine miles. This is a beautiful circular walk. It is less strenuous and can easily be completed in four to five hours.
For both walks, participants will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of £10 and pledge to raise at least £100 sponsorship for CLIC Sargent. The event is open to anyone over the age of 16; those participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
