Jack says: "Being diagnosed with cancer as a teenager is one of the hardest times. You've just begun to have a taste of adult life and then it's all taken away from you.
"My CLIC Sargent Social Worker Anita could sense when I needed support and found ways to get me to talk. I could really open up with her as I didn't feel the need to protect her.
"One of my biggest challenges was feeling very guilty about the impact I was having on family, friends and my girlfriend. My dad had just started up his own business but had to go back to being a carer and my girlfriend at the time spent a lot of time at the hospital and didn't do too well in her A-Levels. I could talk to Anita about this and she helped me see it wasn't my fault.
"Anita helped me think about life after cancer. When I became interested in electrical engineering, she gave me advice on how to get into it and encouraged me to pursue what I wanted to do. I did a course in electrical installation and have now got a job."
