Channel 5 today announced the release of its first ever ‘Milkshake!’ Christmas single, with most of the proceeds going to CLIC Sargent.
The broadcaster is donating 44 pence from each sale of the feel-good, seasonal song ‘It’s Christmas!' All six presenters from the popular children’s entertainment series sing on the single, which was written and produced by presenter Kemi Majeks. The track is available to download now from lots of music platforms including iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and Spotify. It costs 79 pence to download.
Lucy Caldicott, Director of Fundraising at CLIC Sargent, said: “We’re really grateful to Milkshake! and anyone who buys this fantastic single, which really gets you into the Christmas spirit. For some families, cancer can mean they are separated over the festive period when they desperately want to be together. We help them stay together for free at our Homes from Home near specialist hospitals where their child is being treated. But we can only continue to provide vital services like this with donations from supporters and the general public.”
Jessica Symons, Head of Children's at Channel 5, said: “We're delighted to be launching ‘Milkshake!'s’ very first Christmas single, and are honoured to be working with CLIC Sargent, which does such important work for children.”
The release of the single follows a record breaking October, where ‘Milkshake!’ achieved its highest ever viewing figures on record.
