Gavin Hodges, died of cancer in 2013 aged just 23. His family organised the popular fun day in his memory to raise funds for charities that helped support them during Gavin’s treatment. Half of the money raised was donated to CLIC Sargent.
Alison Jones, Gavin’s mum said: “The day is obviously about raising money but it’s also about having fun!
"The event has been held for two years with hundreds of people showing up to willingly donate, raising money for children and young people with cancer and have a great day.
“Gavin was a massive character and was very popular in the local area, always out playing football with his friends.”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Hannah Worrall, said: “I am thrilled that the event was such a great success, thank you to Alison and her family for all their hard work.”
We’re calling on football fanatics across the UK to take part in CLIC Sargent's Kick!
Anyone can get involved and have fun with football whilst raising funds for children and young people with cancer.
