The CLIC Sargent Running Team's star of the month for May is Graham Chilcott.
Below Graham talks about his challenge to run 45 miles to mark his 45th birthday whilst fundraising to help support children and young people with cancer and their families.
A life changing event
"I first came into contact with CLIC Sargent when I entered the Stafford Half Marathon after a 20 year resting period.
"After chatting to the CLIC Sargent Running Events team, the plan grew and so too did the fundraising ideas. I decided to do 45 miles over three events for my 45th birthday. I entered the Telford 10k, Stafford Half Marathon and Manchester Marathon.
"It's been a roller coaster of emotions with training injuries and the thought failing constantly lingering at the back of my mind leading up to race day.
"But from the bottom of my heart I can't thank CLIC Sargent, my family and friends enough for giving me the opportunity of running for CLIC Sargent it really has been a life changing event for me.
"I'm hoping to get back to fitness and carry on a partnership of fundraising for CLIC Sargent for the long term future. It really has been a pleasure helping support the wonderful work CLIC Sargent does for children and young people and their families."
