This is the third year of the event which has grown each year thanks to the support of local surf shop Troggs that generously supports the event and helps promote it to the surfing community in the area.
Well over £1,000 was raised on the day with more sponsorship expected to come in during January.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Christine McClune said: "A big thank you to the very brave people who took a swim in the freezing cold Atlantic this New Year's Day to help raise money for local children and young people with cancer.
"It was a particularly cold, grey and rainy day so we are incredibly grateful to the people who took part and all those who came along to cheer them on!"
Helping to support the Northern Ireland Appeal
All money raised by fundraisers at the Portrush Dip will go to CLIC Sargent's Northern Ireland Appeal which aims to raise £3.7million to fund two Homes from Home at locations within walking distance of the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and the Belfast City and Northern Ireland Cancer Centre.
The two Homes from Home will provide free accommodation for families whilst their children receive cancer treatment.
