The goal is to raise at least £250,000 from the appeal, which is being run in partnership with Cash for Kids, the stations’ umbrella charity, which has committed to raising funds during their annual Cash for Kids Day to support the work of CLIC Sargent.
Cash for Kids Managing Director Sally Aitchison said: “We have teamed up with CLIC Sargent because they are the UK’s leading provider of clinical, practical and emotional support for young cancer patients and their families. Childhood cancer is a devastating experience for families and their lives are turned upside down. CLIC Sargent helps families like these. Together, we are committed to raising funds to help these young people and their families in the local areas in which we operate.”
CLIC Sargent CEO Lorraine Clifton said: “Lack of funding means we can only give two out of three children and young people, and their families, all the support they need. Every donation we receive, however small, will help us support young cancer patients in the areas where these stations broadcast. So we’re really pleased to be the beneficiary of this year’s Cash for Kids Day – and very grateful for all the support and dedication of station staff in delivering this appeal.”
