Good friends Sophie, Ellie, Nikki, Kate and Nat set themselves the challenge of walking 18 miles around footpaths and canal routes in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, in memory of sister and dear friend Charlotte, who sadly died of cancer 10 years ago.
This group of determined young ladies were aiming to raise £1,500 to help support CLIC Sargent and also thank the organisation for the support offered to Charlotte and her family. However, the group were astonished by the generosity of their family, friends and colleagues, when together they managed to raise over £3,000 for children and young people with cancer.
Charlotte’s twin sister, Sophie said: “As friends, we all came up with the idea knowing we wanted to do something to raise money in Charlie's honour. Although it was hard in places, we did it!
"We never thought we would raise this much, it shows how loved and amazing Charlotte was. CLIC Sargent did great things for me and my family, they are an amazing charity.”
