On Saturday 13 October, more than 130 guests attended the annual CLIC Sargent Ball held in The Hotel Bristol in Newquay.
With guests this year travelling from as far as France, Leicester and Liverpool to attend the evening, the event was able to raise more than £7,500 for children and young people with cancer.
The event began with bucks fizz followed by a fantastic four course meal and auction. Guests were then able to enjoy the music of the Mike Collins Disco.
Hannah Eustice from the CLIC Sargent Cornwall Voluntary Fundraising Group said: “We had fantastic support again from local businesses. The auction was exciting and we had wonderful prizes including beautiful pictures from local artists; Clare Parker, Dick Twinney, Emily Pryor, Lorna Wiles, Melanie McDonald, Sheila Beckett and Paul Foreman, rounds of golf, beauty treatments, a signed framed Jason Leonard rugby shirt, a huge sheepskin rug from Celtic Sheepskin Co, pottery from Georgina Cominos, a range of Cornish holidays and many other items. Auctioneers Brian, Jonathon and Bradley Start of ‘Start & Co’ kept the guests on their toes with quick and often witty sales techniques.”
Stephanie Cherington-Rimmell, CLIC Sargent fundraising manager for Cornwall said: “It is wonderful that this annual event continues to be widely supported and such a success. I would like to thank all those who helped organize the event and raise such a wonderful amount for CLIC Sargent.”
