Can I volunteer in a role that directly supports children and young people with cancer?

Occasionally we have opportunities at our Homes from Home. If positions become available, they will be advertised on our Services Volunteers page

All of our volunteering opportunities, from fundraising to office support, contribute to our vision and to the fight for young lives against cancer.

Do you offer training and support to CLIC Sargent volunteers?

It's our job to support you in your volunteering role. We give you all the information and resources you need before we ask you to give your time to volunteer.

We provide you with training that's appropraite to your role. This could include training on a shop till, giving talks in your community, or how to use our supporter database.

We also help you to develop your soft skills and your confidence!

If I receive benefits, can I still volunteer?

Yes, the benefits regulations are clear that you can still volunteer but for full details of the conditions on specific benefits, please visit the Volunteering England website.

How much time do I have to give?

We have a wide range of opportunities, so whether you can volunteer on a daily, weekly, monthly, or ad hoc basis, your time will make a valuable and lasting difference to CLIC Sargent.

We recognise that our volunteers have varying time commitments and we are dedicated to working flexibly with you to enable you to volunteer.

What references will I need to give?

This will depend on the role you are taking on, but most volunteers will be asked for at least one reliable reference. For certain roles that involve working with children and/or young people you will need a criminal record check, which we will organise for you.

Where can I volunteer?

CLIC Sargent operates across the UK. Our volunteers can be found fundraising in their local communities, supporting at events, at our Homes from Home, in our offices and in our charity shops.

Whatever your location, we can use your support!
