Two Suffolk businesses have come together to help CLIC Sargent raise thousands of pounds through the distribution of clothing donations to CLIC Sargent charity shops in the south west of England.
More than 180 bags of clothing donations have passed through the storage facility at Box-It East in Suffolk to be distributed to CLIC Sargent’s charity shops in the past two years.
And the last remaining 50 bags, with an estimated value of £1,500, will soon be making their own journey with the help of Cross Country Carriers, the single and multi pallet distribution specialists.
Box-It East, the Future 50 document management firm, and Cross County Carriers have donated their services entirely free of charge to support children and young people with cancer and their families.
Claire Brooks, managing director of Box-It East, said: “We are proud to support CLIC Sargent and have undertaken lots of fundraising challenges raising thousands of pounds to support their work.
“It’s great to know that so much will be raised by these donations to help more families who are faced with the shock of a cancer diagnosis.”
Jon Humphry, managing director of Cross Country Carriers, added: “We are really happy to help.
“The donations will be travelling to the CLIC Sargent warehouse in Bristol – a long way from Suffolk!”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Daisy Turner said: “We are so pleased that all the clothes, shoes and accessories that have been donated by kind individuals and businesses will reach our charity shops to raise lots of money.
“We are very grateful to Box-It East and Cross Country Carriers for their support.”
