10-year-old Hollie took part in her second Race for Life event, running the 5K course for a very special little boy – her best mate Josh. She completed it in 22 minutes and raised more than £500 for CLIC Sargent.
Hollie has known Josh since she was born. They went to nursery together and are still in the same class at school.
However, Josh isn't able to attend school at the moment as he is waiting for a bone marrow transplant.
Hollie decided to take part in her second Race for Life in aid of CLIC Sargent as the charity has supported Josh and his family since his diagnosis.
Hollie’s parents Stuart and Lorraine said: “She is a little superstar and has done fantastically. Hollie ran the course in 22 minutes and has so far raised £561.
"We’re really pleased for her. She didn't even rest after and had a massive barbecue with friends!”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Hannah Auer said: “I’m extremely impressed to hear how Hollie had the energy to keep going after the race – she is such a trooper.
"We’re so inspired by her decision to raise money for CLIC Sargent in support of Josh.
"A big thank you to Hollie for pulling on her trainers and dashing around the Race for Life course to raise money to support even more children and young people living with cancer.”
