Students and staff from St Thomas More Catholic School in Blaydon have raised £3,292.83 for CLIC Sargent through Lent themed fundraising activities.
The teachers and pupils raised this incredible amount mainly through cake sales and pupils donating voucher prize money from a competition held every year at the school.
The cheque was presented to CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Dee Tyler at the school's end of year service.
The money raised by St Thomas More Catholic School could pay for a CLIC Sargent Nurse for three weeks whilst they provide clinical and non-clinical care for children and young people with cancer.
Dee said: “It’s incredible that the school have raised so much. Their end of year service was all about faith and I think their wonderful donation gives you great faith in young people and their generosity.
"Thank you to everyone involved in raising this money on behalf of the children and young people we support.”
